Kiwanis clubs view their role within their respective communities with a great deal of foresight. Key aspects to operating an effective club include:
• Evaluating children’s issues and community needs on an ongoing basis
• Conducting service projects to respond to those identified needs
• Maintaining an active membership roster of people who have the desire and ability to serve the children of their community
Service projects include a golf tournament, pancake breakfast along with a reverse raffle. Other fundraisers include 50/50 split donations and playing Santa in Raeford over the holidays. We work with the Stoneybrook Steeple Race at Carolina Horsepark in providing event service. Raeford Kiwanis Club supports the Terrific Kids Program and contributes to the following projects: Hoke Literacy Council, Children’s Developmental Center, Boys and Girls Home, three Scholarships to Hoke High School graduates, Boy and girl Scouts, (H.E.L.P) Share your Christmas, Women’s Club Campership, East & West Hoke middle school Scholarships, Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics, Helmet Safety Day, Relay for Life and the National Fire Safety Council.
