I am an Amateur Radio operator also know as Ham Radio. I have been licensed since the mid 80's. My Novice callsign was KB4TTQ that I changed to KK4WH an Advanced class callsign when I upgraded through General to Advanced. That was in the good ole day when you could tell operator license and region by the callsign. The FCC really screwed that up with a bonehead move to change the callsign assignment rules. I operate and maintain 3 repeaters at this time. Repeater 1. 224.960/R - PL 203.5Hz. located at 2800 feet on Pine Mountain overlooking Whitesburg and Letcher County Kentucky. 2. DMR 444.250/R cc1 located at the highest point in Ky. Black Mountain 4265 feet. My DMR repeater is on the Ky/Va state line and covers into Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee. Connected to the Brandmeister network with Kentucky statewide TG3121 fulltime on TS2. TS2 IS FOR KYSW 3121 ONLY! Everything else is PTT on TS1. If you connect a Tg I request that you please disconnect - GroupCall 4000 - when finished with you conversation. 3. 146.760/R PL 103.5Hz located at the Kingdom Come State Park at Cumberland, Kentucky 2800 feet. The site is on the Harlan & Letcher County line overlooking Cumberland, Benham, & Lynch in Harlan County and Gordon/Line Fork in Letcher County. This repeater is on the bench and should be on the air soon.

I have enjoyed many mode of operation over the years but am loving the digital aspect right now. I operate a DVMega on a Raspberry Pi at home and on the go to access the Brandmeister Network.
