More about Kohola Hale

If you're planning a vacation to East Hawaii, I'd like to welcome you to stay at the Koholā Hale "Whale House". This newly renovated, two bedroom, two full bath vacation home offers a South East Asian decor with furnishings sure to please.

Located on a street that fronts the ocean, this property features a large lanai with excellent ocean views. Listen to the waves break on the shoreline and watch green sea turtles playing in the surf. During the winter months, October thru March, it's an excellent location to whale watch! With your morning cup of Kona coffee, enjoy a beautiful sunrise on the front lanai. A private lanai off the master bedroom looks over a beautifully landscaped tropical garden that's home to a variety orchids, palms and plumeria trees. The space includes a large cabana and barbecue. Great for relaxing with family and friends!

Offering internet access and satellite TV, you'll feel right at home. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your culinary and entertaining needs. A large granite counter provides extra space for entertaining and seating. A beautiful mango wood dining room table seats eight. French doors open onto the large, ocean facing lanai.

The master bedroom includes a king size bed, large closet, and nicely appointed private bath and vanity. The second bedroom hosts a queen size bed and closet. Located in the semi-private den is a full size futon and built-in desk. This den can be used as a third bedroom. With a second full size futon in the living room, this house can sleep up to eight comfortably!

With a short drive to the quaint old village of Pahoa, you'll find a local supermarket, gas stations, bookstore, cafe, drugstores, gift shops, surf shop, Post Office and a handful of excellent restaurants; Mexican, Thai, Italian and local fare.

Conveniently located, many sights can be found within a hour's drive. At Volcano National Park you'll be able to see the volcano put on a show for you. At Kaimu Beach, sink your feet into one of Hawaii's newest black sand beaches. Explore Kapoho Fish Ponds where you can snorkel with tropical fish. Be adventurous at Alahanui Park and take a dip in the calm, healing waters of a natural geothermal pond or visit one of our many botanical gardens in this area. See why this island is nicknamed the "Orchid Island"!

Come stay at the "Koholā Hale"!
