Guidance, Health & Safety
Guidance
Guidance

We use the following: redirection, offering choices, setting limits, modeling, and behavior modifications that reduce negative behaviors all the while, letting the child know that he/she is protected, nurtured and loved. We use caring tones of voice with the children and if I warn employees twice about their tone, they will be dismissed.

Saying “No” “Stop” “Don’t” “Quit” are all negative words. We will work diligently on positive replacements!!!

Biting

Biting is a normal part of child development for children up to the age of three years. If your child bites or is bitten while in care at our center you will be informed in writing by means of an Incident Report. If your child bites or is bitten and breaks the skin; then you will be informed by telephone.

If your child is age three or older and still bites, the following will occur with each instance: first occurrence – verbal warning to parent; second occurrence – one day suspension from child care; and third occurrence – dismissal from program.
