About CSA:
Fresh from our farm to your table

Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, is a popular system of supporting local farmers while enjoying quality produce. Families or individuals invest in a farm by purchasing a share in the winter and are repaid throughout the growing season with weekly boxes of farm fresh produce. In a CSA, farmers receive their income at the beginning of the year when they need it most to purchase seeds and supplies, while members of a CSA receive the freshest produce available throughout the season.
Our CSA, Krismark Kreek Farm, will run approximately 15 weeks. You will begin to get your vegetables around early May* through early Sept*. In order to be able to enjoy our fresh local grown vegetables you will have an opportunity to buy shares. A share is a basket of a variety of seasonal produce you will pick up each week at our farm address. Early spring your basket will contain an ample amount of greens, beets, spring onions, broccoli, radishes, and cabbage. As the season progresses and other crops mature some of the early spring crops will be replaced with vegetables such as green beans, butterbeans, butter peas, a variety of fresh tomatoes, peppers, mature onions, okra, sweet Serendipity corn, summer squash, cucumbers, egg plant, white and red Irish potatoes, and crowder peas. Then early to late September your produce will be some great Beauregard sweet potatoes, along with any other vegetables that still will be producing. The amount of produce you will receive will be according to the size share you decide to purchase. A half share will plenty for a family of two to four people. A full share will be enough for a family of 4 to 6 people. If there are just two to three of you in your family, a half-share should be enough for you each week. We grow most all of our produce on plastic and have a watering system, so most weather issues do not affect our production. However we cannot control weather like hail, wind and even varmint issues like deer and wild hogs so we all run a risk of production being curtailed if things happen beyond our control. Our goal is to produce and provide the best quality veg. for our customers. For more information, and for us to send you the agreement in the mail, contact me via email at krismarkkreekfarm@charter.net with your name, contact number, and address. I encourage you if you are interested to contact us ASAP because of the limited number of shares offered. Only seven this year so if you are interested I would suggest to get on board early. Read on for more specific information about our CSA, and pricing.

The concept of CSA’s has been around for approximately 20 years and the amount of shares that are offered for purchase vary from operation to operation. We can only offer a total of SEVEN (7) shares this year. We want to give you excellent service and keep our overhead low. In order to have your produce ready for you on pick up day, so we are cutting off share ownership at 7 on the 14th of February 2017. The shares will be on a first come first serve basis. We must do this in order to know how much to plant.
Pick up of your produce baskets will be each Wednesday at our home address from 8:00am till 6:30pm. If you cannot pick up during this time frame contact us and make other arrangements so you can enjoy your fresh vegetables while they are fresh. You will be notified in ample time when the first pick up of the season will be ready.
We at Krismark Kreek Farm hope that you will be participating with us for the upcoming 2017 season.
The prices and payment of each option are as follows:
1. ½ share (enough for two to four people) $425..00 (over a 15 week period (approx. $27.00 per week spent on fresh vegetables) One payment of $425.00 due upon return of signed agreement.
2. Full Share (enough for four to six people) $525.00 (over a 15 week period approx. $35.00 per week spent on fresh vegetables) One payment of $525.00 due upon return of signed agreement, due no later than February 14, 2017.
If your are interested in preserving some veggies above your share we will sell you the extra at market price. I will need to know ahead of time so I can harvest and prepare (clean) them for you.
*Dates and length of CSA may vary according to weather and timing of ripening of produce.
