La Barataria Restaurant & Wine Bar

La Barataria Restaurant & Wine Bar, 224 East Cotter Street, Port Aransas, Texas opened in September 2010. This jewel of a restaurant was conceptualized by brother and sister team, Terry Takahashi and Lezlie Keebler, to fill the need in Port Aransas for a restaurant and bar that caters to the sophisticated, mature adult with discerning tastes.

La Barataria offers a unique experience to their guests, beginning with the beautiful views of the marina and Corpus Christi Channel, culminating in breathtaking sunsets. Day memberships are available for use of the marina facilities, including showers, pool, hot tub and pool-side dining and cocktails.

Lezlie relocated from Chicago to Port Aransas, bringing decades of experience in the restaurant industry to the island. The objective was to open a restaurant and wine bar that would appeal to and be successful in any major market. La Barataria, the only wine bar in Port Aransas, offers all their boutique wines by the glass, chosen to complement American fare with Cajun and French influences. The atmosphere is casually elegant, sexy, intimate, warm and cozy. Music is Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald and Billy Holiday style blues and jazz.

Menu development does not stop at the kitchen door. Lezlie’s background as a Mixologist inspires her to create cocktails that are often influenced by what’s cooking in the kitchen. Old favorites such as the Bloody Mary, Mojito, Margarita, Dirty Martini and Champagne Cocktails are made with a new, fresh twist, resulting in a growing reputation with the locals for the best cocktails in town.

Extensive event planning and coordination experience combined with unmatched private event space makes La Barataria and Island Moorings Yacht Club and Marina the place for exclusive, upscale corporate and social events.
