La Canada High School - Spartans

La Canada High School is a comprehensive high school in the West San Gabriel Valley serving the community of La Canada Flintridge. We are located next to California Institute of Technology's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) right near the Pasadena Rose Bowl. Opened in the 1963-64 school year, the campus traditions of academic and personal success are hallmarks that were established early and continue today. Our campus population changed in the 1980’s with the addition of students and staff from Foothill Intermediate School. The resulting grades 7-12 campus has thrived and we now feature a Small Schools configuration for nurturing and support for our 7th and 8th graders while also providing a smooth transition to 9th grade for our students.

In addition to our strong academics including a range of successful Advanced Placement courses, we are proud of our fully developed arts programs in vocal and instrumental music, drama and visual arts. Based on the interests of students, ROP career tracks in Culinary Arts, Media Arts, Digital Photography and Design have been established, with newer programs in Sports Medicine and Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) developing along the same continuum.
