La Vernia United Methodist Church

La Vernia, Texas, is about 20 miles southeast of San Antonio. Our 2010 population was 1,249 but we are at the edge of the fast-growing Eagle Ford Oil Shale region with new houses being built and new businesses opening in our corner of Wilson County.

We invite you to join us as we worship God and put love of neighbor into real, practical terms through our many missions and ministries. Our Childcare Ministries operates a day school through pre-K and after school care up to 5th grade. Our Aging Gracefully seniors meet every Wednesday. Twice Blest thrift store offers used clothing and household goods for low suggested donations and we help operate the La Vernia Food Pantry as members of the local ministerial alliance.

Our average worship attendance is about 100 at 8:30am and 60 at 11:00am. We also have about 40 youth attend our 6:30 Wednesday evening "Crossfire" service. Our new Sunday School program "Bible Blast" meets at 9:45. There are also adult Sunday School classes for all ages.
