Located 25 miles from Merced, CA, Lake McSwain offers 7.5 miles of crystal clear lake for fishing, swimming, boating or just relaxing. The lake winds gently thorough a canyon, offering a stunning view of the oak-studded hills soaring on both sides. a 10MPH speed limit on Lake McSwain slows the pace for a more peaceful fishing trip.
Regular stocks of Rainbow Trout from the Department of Fish and Game as well as stocks from Calavaras Trout Farm assure great fishing year round.
Fishing information is available at the Lake McSwain Marina. The McSwain Marina is well stocked with bait, tackle, fishing rods, groceries, and sundries. Fuel and propane are also available.
Lake McSwain Marina has fishing boats and a patio boat for rent. There will also be kayaks and peddle boats available very shortly.
If you get hungry, Lake McSwain Marina has a grill which serves a variety of fresh cooked foods. Some of the favorites are the 100% Angus burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, Polish sausage, and chicken tenders. Try them with a side of sweet potato fries!

If you want to come for an overnight trip, Lake Mcswain offers 112 camp sites, with 65 of those offering water and electric hookups. There are 6 total comfort stations as well as clothes washer and dryer, hot showers, childrens play area, swimming lagoon and fish cleaning stations.
