Lake Perris Park is located about 65 miles south of Los Angeles; located 11 miles south of Riverside off Highway 60 or the I-215. The lake is 3 miles long and 2 miles across with about 10 miles of accessible shoreline. The lake elevation is 1,560 feet and the average water temperature is about 70° degrees. Lake Perris is surrounded by mountains which have a vast amount of wildlife for you to explore.

SERVICES/ FACILITY:
For your convenience, there is a camp store, which carries ice, firewood, toys, and other general merchandise in case you left something behind on your vacation. We also carry everything you would need for your fishing experience including live bait.

At our marina you will find live bait, tackle, 35 overnight slip rentals, fishing boats,fishing pontoons, deluxe pontoon boat rentals, and fishing licenses.

We also provide 200 monthly wet slip and 70 dry storage spaces so that you may store your vessel or trailer on location.

Lake Perris also has 2 paved boat launch ramps which have 4 lanes for your use. Around Lake Perris you will find guided tours, miles of paved and unpaved trails for biking, hiking and horseback riding, water skiing, kayaking, canoeing, and rock climbing areas (please climb at your own risk). Birdwatchers will find activity all year long as Lake Perris is a migratory stop for over 300 species of birds. There are almost 300 picnic areas and 2 beaches to go swimming, scuba diving, and windsurfing. In addition, the beaches have lifeguards on duty from spring until fall (we encourage all swimmers to swim in front of the lifeguards and parallel to the shoreline). There are changing rooms, showers, and restrooms available for your use. There is also a regional Indian Museum showing the rich Native American history of the Park.

FISHING:
Lake Perris produces a variety of fish which continue to bite throughout the year. Anglers 16 years of age and older must purchase a California Department of Fish and Game fishing license. Which are available at the marina store (One day fishing license $14.30, annual license $44.85, second rod enhancement $13.78) The limit for all species is five fish per person per day.

You may fish off the Lake Perris Marina dock for an additional fee:
$3 per Adult / $2 per Senior (+60) or Child under 12.
Dock fishing only during store hours

The Department of Fish and Game regularly stocks Lake Perris with Rainbow Trout during the winter months. You may also call (562) 594-7268 for pre-recorded trout plant information.

Other species of fish include; Largemouth Bass, Spotted Bass (rare), Bluegill, Red Ear Sunfish, Black Crappie, Carp, Channel Catfish, Bull Catfish and a small population of stripers. You can call the marina for the most recent fish report.

BOAT RENTALS & RULES:
To rent a fishing boat or a pontoon boat, you must provide a valid drivers license or ID, be at least 18 years of age, and have the deposit amount available by credit card. All boat rental fees include fuel, personal flotation devices, paddles and an anchor. The maximum lake speed limit is 35 mph.

CAMPING:
The family campground has 167 sites for tent camping (non-hookup sites) and 264 paved sites for recreational vehicles up to 31 feet long (hookups sites). Each site has a table, fire ring with a grill and water access. A maximum of 8 people per site only!

A minimum of 50 people constitutes as a group. For family or group reservations please call (800) 444-7275. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance and can be made up to 7 months in advance. For more information on prices and rules for campsites click here.

Rocky Mountain Recreation operates under a special use permit as a concessionaire for the Lake Perris State Recreation Park. Rocky Mountain Recreation has no authority to override the above listed fees.

HOURS OF OPERATION:
Lake Perris is open after sunset for boating. After listening to our visitors we have made the following changes to the hours of the lake so that people can fish 30 minutes up to 2 hours after sunset (depending on the sunset times). This change will make Lake Perris one of the only Southern California Reservoirs allowing boaters and fisherman the opportunity to recreate at dusk and into the night.
