Lakeview Bham

Birmingham’s historic Lakeview District is a vibrant 36-block neighborhood located just east of downtown. Lakeview has two distinct gathering spots: the Pepper Place Market District -- four blocks of shops, restaurants and offices centered at 29th St S and 2nd Ave S -- that is also home to the Market at Pepper Place, one of Alabama's largest and most popular farmers' markets open Saturdays April-December.
The center of the Lakeview Entertainment District is at 7th Ave S and 29th St S. Within a few blocks of this corner you'll find some of the City's best dining and nightlife. It has become the lunch-hot spot, and a favorite place to gather with family and friends.

Lakeview has 400+ businesses, many of which have been in the district for years and are unique to Lakeview. Three of the top 25 employers -- Brasfield & Gorrie, BBVA Compass, and St Vincent's -- have major operations/headquarters here. The District has more design-related professionals, services and showrooms than any other neighborhood -- making it truly a one-stop destination for those looking to design, build, furnish, or decorate a home or office.

The Lakeview District is bordered on the north by 1st Ave S, the south by University Blvd/Clairmont Ave and St Vincent's, the east by 32nd/33rd St S and the west by the U.S. 31 overpass (26th St S). The City designated Lakeview a Commercial Revitalization District in 1991.
