Lancaster County Park Rangers

Lancaster County’s nine parks are open year-round from sunrise to sunset. Park rangers patrol the parks to ensure visitors’ safety. Specifically, they enforce the county park system's park rules and regulations by providing education and issuing verbal or written warnings or summary citations to violators.

Patrol
Rangers patrol the parks using fully-equipped patrol vehicles, and they also patrol the parks and trails on foot and on bike. Park rangers also assist visitors in locating park facilities.

While they are trained in law enforcement, a large part of park ranger work is to provide emergency services, such as first aid. As such, park rangers are trained in CPR and in using automated external defibrillators (AED).
