….Laura Jane.

Of course, I always referred to her as Mamaw, but oh how she inspired and made a difference in so many lives, just by being ‘Laura Jane’. She wasn’t rich, not an intellectual and didn’t cure one the world’s illnesses, but the impact she made on those around her…WOW. She was taken from this earth way too soon by an evil known as pancreatic cancer. Not that any cancer is good, because it is not, but pancreatic cancer is terrible and seems to often times come out of nowhere. I knew I didn’t want to bring her back, because she was re-united with the love of her life, Shirley, the day she left this earth. I did, however, want to honor her in a way that would not only show what an unselfish and giving person she was, but also make her proud of the man I have become. Above all, give back, as she did her entire life, and make a difference in the world, no matter how big or small.

…And that is how Laura Jane Candles got our start…from one of the most amazing women I have known. Each of our products is carefully considered for our company because it must embody the essence of Laura Jane. Each item has a story and that story is what brings a smile to the faces of those who knew her best.
