An Integral Part of our Community

The “Club” positively impacts children, teens and families each year. The “Club” is a human service organization dedicated to developing the full potential of every individual through programs that build health spirit, mind and body for all. At the core of all “Club” programs are our four character values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. It is our commitment to not only provide a safe and educational environment, but also to nurture the growth of a healthy character for every program member.

More than 200 individuals volunteer at the Laurel Boys and Girls Club, helping in programs from recreational and childcare to membership and administration. For many teens in the community, the “Club” provides an opportunity for learning job skills and life lessons as they reach out to the community to help others.

Serving Community Needs

The “Club” operates school age programs in the Greater Laurel area, an area with many at-risk youth and families and described by HUD as 51% of the families living below the poverty level. The “Club” provides financial assistance so that children whose families cannot afford summer camp, winter camp, recreational programs and educational programs may participate. This enables their parents to enter the workforce. The “Club is helping promote workforce development and community stabilization.

The “Club” is hoping to renovate its unused Child Care Facility so that we can offer affordable childcare to our families. The Child Care Facility has the space to house over 100 kids. It is currently unoccupied due to deplorable and unsafe conditions.

Open to All

The Laurel Boys and Girls Club is a charitable organization that provides healthy and positive recreational and educational activity to children and families of all ethnic, economic, and religious backgrounds. The “Club” provides financial assistance and support to those unable to pay. The “ Club” is currently seeking partnership with local, state, federal governments and business leaders to expand its programs to offering tutoring, computer labs and leisure activities at an affordable cost to the community.
