LEAPS Child Care

LEAPS offers a safe, convenient program for before and after-school hours, school holidays, and other school closings. The overall goal of the after-school program is to help children develop valuable skills while encouraging the smart choices and healthy habits that last a lifetime. We provide a nurturing, stimulating, and fun environment where children further their learning experiences and explorations. Our facility will take children off the bus from Manheim Elementary at the end of each school day, including days when there is early dismissal. We provide a nutritious afternoon snack each day while kids socialize with their friends.

Student needs are met through warm interactions with teachers, who provide help and guidance with daily homework, reading, studying, and special projects. Teachers also encourage children to spend time on independent learning in subjects they may not have an opportunity to explore in school. Students may spend this independent time in our stocked library, which comprises a variety of subjects and reading levels. Children are also given the opportunity to play a wide variety of word and board games, create arts and crafts projects, participate in music and movement activities, and enjoy physical fitness with team games. Both staff members are experienced musicians and can offer musical education to students. We will also take children outside for nature walks and play time on our playground when weather permits. We encourage students to be mutually supportive in the creation of a caring daycare community.

Our staff guides and encourages the children in completing daily written homework assignments and assists them in studying for tests and exams. Caregivers are experienced with the Everyday Math program and equipped to help students at any time. Most importantly, we provide a safe, comfortable, and entertaining environment for students to relax after a long school day.
