Legacy Ridge Farms

Legacy Ridge is the herd name for the dairy goats originally raised by Lauren and Phillip (brother) here on the farm. When it came time to pick a name, which would start the names of all the goats and go on signs and cards a lot of thought went into what it should be. Names that had typically been used on the family farm in the past were already in use. Mom's (Kathy) family farm has been known as Maple Grove and Dave and Kathy ran a horse stable called Maple B Stables on the family farm at one point. Dad's(Dave) family also has a farm,Osage View, only a 1/4 mile North of where we are located now. After discussion and lists of possibilities the name LEGACY came up as the farming and love of animals is definitely a legacy we want to pass on and hope they will pass to their children. Since we live in an area of Ohio known for a lot of Ridges and we are along the Ridge of the Rocky River . . . LEGACY RIDGE it became! The family still helps in running crops on both family farms, drive tractors, pull wagons and bale hay, etc. They both were active in 4-H, as were some of their older sisters who showed pigs, cattle, poultry,etc.
