It is with great excitement and pleasure that I am able to announce the grand opening of Liberty Tree Realty. As Broker and Owner, it begins a new chapter in my life in Real Estate. My interest started back in 1978 when my grandmother, Lucille McCutcheon became a real estate agent at the age of 67. Her courage taught me that no matter what your age you can achieve what you put your mind to. Since then I have always had a dream to follow in her footsteps.
My past position as a marketing and promotion executive for a major music company gave me valuable experience that would help me brand and promote my business as I started out in Real Estate. But the most valuable experience I have accumulated over the past 12 years is the mentoring I received from my peers in the Brazoria County Board of Realtors. In particular, Charles Castleberry with American Realty, where I have hung my hat for the past 5 years. I earned my Brokers license in 2012, which requires a vast amount of education and experience, with the mind set to always be current and advanced in Real Estate trends, marketing, and technology, all to provide the best service possible to my clients. I am fortunate to have clients that become friends, and their referrals. I currently serve on the MLS committee and PR committee at the Brazoria County Board of Realtors. I am a member or Brazos Point Fellowship, and I am so proud of my daughter Brooke, her husband Brian, and their family that includes 3 beautiful grandchildren, Evan, Lainey and Stella.
Our most recent addition to our team is Melanie Calvin. Melanie is a life-long Texan. Born in Ft. Worth and having lived in El Paso and San Antonio, her roots are deep. She has called Lake Jackson home since 2000.
She and her husband, Kenny, have 2 fine sons, Adam 26 and Russell 23. In her personal time, she enjoys fishing, cooking, kayaking and gardening. She is very community minded and has served on the Lake Jackson Dangerous Structure and Determination Board, various community garden projects, team leader for the Gathering Place at her church for 2 years and Executive Director of River of Hope for almost 3 years. She serves on various ministries through her church, Brazos Pointe Fellowship.
Melanie has been in Real Estate since 1999. Her background in business has given her the skill set necessary to efficiently handle all types of real estate transactions. While she primarily handles residential, she also has experience with commercial, land, leasing and relocation services. She has served as the chairperson on the TREPAC Committee for the Brazoria County Board of Realtors 3 times and currently is the chair for the Education Committee.
