Licking Township Fire Company was established in 1995 to provide fire and EMS protection to the residents of Licking Township. Shortly after the start up contracts were signed for the same services with Franklin and Bowling Green Township, Ohio. Licking Township Fire Company is a combination department of one full-time fire chief and part-time/volunteer personnel. LTFC takes approximately 1100 to 1200 runs a year that consist of EMS, fire, dive rescue, and haz-mat. LTFC runs have increased 5 times since the establishment. LTFC coverage area consist of Buckeye Lake, Dawes Arboretum, ODOT district 5 office, Legend Valley Music Center, and I-70. LTFC consists of 3 station two that are located in Licking Township and an additional sub station in Franklin Township. LTFC fire and EMS equipment consists of 2 engines, 1 engine/tanker, 2 tankers, 2 grass fighters, 3 EMS vehicles, 1 rescue, 1 dive rescue, 2 boats, and 1 haz-mat foam trailer. LTFC runs mutual aid with 7 other fire departments.
