Life Church - Core Values

1. Presence

Exodus 33.15
“Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here...”

The most honoring thing we can do in any church service is to welcome God by creating space for Him to move. We always want to honor Holy Spirit and have his wonderful presence manifest at our meetings. We want Jesus to be in our midst and so anything that would hinder Him coming to be with us has to go. That’s why we place such a high value on creating an atmosphere of praise and worship and walking in honor and love. We are a church that hosts His presence; carrying His glory within us.

Faith
Matthew 17:20

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

We believe that all things are possible through Jesus; that things impossible for men, are easy through God. We believe that faith expressing itself through love moves the heart of God. Therefore we are a people of great faith, moved by compassion, that will accomplish great exploits.

3. Relationships

Acts 2.46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts...

We place a high value on growing together as a body of people who love Jesus. So while we meet together on Sundays for our main services, we also meet throughout the week as friends and families, in small groups, and at whole church social events. It is in the context of relationships that our communion with God is best expressed and the process of becoming like him is most fruitful.

4. Honor

1 Peter 2:17
Honor all people

It is impossible to grow relationships when living in an atmosphere of disapproval. Believing the best about a person is not about ignoring their faults, but about celebrating who they are without stumbling over who they are not. In a culture of honor we accept that we are always a work in progress and therefore deserving of mercy, grace and love. When we are willing to give the mercy, grace, and love of God to each other we position ourselves to receive the unique expression and gift of God that lies within each of us.

5. Transformation

2 Corinthians 3:18
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory
Scriptures teach that when we behold Christ we become like Him. That means that when we come into encounters with Him sin is broken and the lost get saved, the sick become well, the oppressed are set free, and the redeemed grow in victory and glory. When transformation begins on the inside it is impossible to keep it from overflowing into every area of our lives. Simply put, Transformed People Transform Cities.

6. Equipping

Hebrews 13.20-21 May the God of peace... equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ...

We believe every Christian is in ‘full time ministry’ - we don’t see a difference between the spiritual and the secular arenas. Everybody has an incredible call on their life and we want to make sure people are trained and equipped to reach their destiny. We realize that when every person takes their place in the Body of Christ we become positioned to attain the full measure of Christ.

7. Generosity

Matthew 10.5-8 Jesus sent out the twelve with the following instructions: “...Preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”

We don’t want to be Christians who have been given much but keep it all to ourselves! Rather we want to give away all we’ve been given. If God can pass it through you, He will give it to you. As such we love to be generous and give, be it money, time, resources or the gospel of Jesus. We believe that it is through this type of generosity that the Good News of Jesus Christ will be declared and the Kingdom of God advance in our region.
