More about Life with Madeline

Name: Victoria

Location: Midwest

Status: I’m a wife, a mom to an angel and a rainbow daughter, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, a niece, a friend. I’m married to Patrick, the most amazing man in the world. We have one dog, a Beagle-Jack Russel Terrier mix named Sophie. We have one son, Joshua Patrick who currently lives in Heaven. We also have one daughter, Madeline who is our rainbow and such a complete joy.

Why blog? I don’t know exactly why. I’ve always been writing either online, in journals, or just on random scraps of paper… I have a B.A. degree in English – Creative Writing. So, I guess I often feel compelled to be writing something. I have done the “blog” thing off and on for over 15 years. Lately, it’s been just a good place for me to put down all of the chaos that is inside my head. It’s basically a really cheap form of therapy.

What’s with the name? This blog has sort of evolved over the years. Originally I started blogging long before I was married or had kids. It was just a place to ramble about life a single college student. Then I kind of stopped writing for awhile. I picked it back up after we lost Joshua. I needed an outlet for my grief. I needed a place to write it all down, to get it out of my head. Rooted in Faith was born at that point. I needed something to hang on to, to hope for, to believe in. That site evolved again after we had Madeline. It became a lot more everyday life, parenting, and fun pictures of our girl. I finally decided the site needed a complete change. My faith is still there, I just think this name – Life with Madeline better reflects what this site has become about.

What you expect to read about? Really just life in general. In the past seven years Patrick and I met, fell in love, got engaged, planned a wedding, purchased a house, moved, had a wedding, adopted a puppy, had a car stolen, bought a new car, decorated and painted the entire interior of our house, got pregnant, had a fantastic pregnancy until week 29 when we had our son via an emergency c-section and lost him two days later, got pregnant again, and delivered a healthy, adorable, precious baby girl. Life has been a roller coaster to say the very least. I write about everything from marriage, faith, grief, love, family, parenting, diy, crafts, with a few recipes thrown in for fun. The journey may not always be easy or pretty, but I have faith and hope that in the end it will all be worth it.
