Dr. Tew has been a staff orthopedic surgeon of the Olympic Games and the World Basketball Championships. He has served as a "MOC DOC" to the Division 1 University of Tennessee Chattanooga sports teams. He is the program director for the orthopedic residency training program at Erlanger Medical Center and teaches sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery. Continuing medical education is gained from being a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, in which he stays abreast of the latest techniques in arthroscopic surgery. He takes a leadership role by serving on their Health Policy and Practice Committee. He also attends post-graduate courses on total joint arthroplasty.
