Liminal

LIMINAL provides opportunities for writers to:

-read/perform their work at Showcases and other events

-take writing workshops

-teach writing workshops and develop a client base

-co-work & join as a co-working member

-Stay &do a writing residency for a week

-Participate in a Work-Study Writers-in-Residence Program

-hold events or rehearsals in the space




MONTHLY READINGS:
4th Saturday of the Month is a LIMINAL SHOWCASE of 10-15 writers and performers

"From All Points But the Center" is a feminist reading series based out of Oakland. This is an intentional conversation space for feminist writers, a trans, genderqueer and questioning inclusive space, and a space that encourages collaboration and experimentation. All forms of writing are encouraged from fiction & poetry to editorial, screen writing, letter correspondence, scientific findings, or anything else that warrants saying in a feminist space. Bring in other mediums, collaborate with artists who aren't writers but are feminists, push the boundaries of literature and how it is presented and explored. If you have specific space requirements\props\environments and we want to feature your work, we will make it work.

ACCESSIBLITY:
Liminal is not a fully-accessible space. It is located on street level with no stairs. Folks have come in manual and power chairs before. However, the bathroom is not ada compliant and there is not much of a turning radius. There is not a scent-free policy. Liminal houses 3 cats and sometimes has scented candles burning.
