LES serves nearly 130,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers located within its 200 square-mile service area. LES is the third largest electric system in Nebraska – the nation’s only all-public power state. The utility opened for business on February 1, 1966, as an enterprise function of the city of Lincoln.
