Lisa King Smith, Ed.S, LPC

Lisa a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Georgia,working in a private practice clinic & at a foster care residential facility. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of GA (LPCA) in the capacity of Western District Chair since 2012.

In addition to a Bachelor's & a Master's Degree in Psychology from the University of West Georgia, she holds a professional degree of Specialist (Ed.S) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling & Supervision. Her academic interests primarily concentrate on spiritual & mindful parenting, attachment, spirituality, integrative health, resilience, compassion fatigue & humor.

Currently in private in Carrollton, GA, for 2 years Lisa also worked as a part time contract Clinical Therapist at Murphy-Harpst Children's Center at their residential facility, outpatient clinic in Cedartown, working with children, adolescents & their families. In addition, for 2 years Ms. King also worked as a Clinical Therapist in private practice at Dallas Family Counseling Center, in Dallas, GA where she worked individually with a caseload of clients providing mental health services to parents, children, families, adolescents, couples and adults. Prior to this she worked for a comprehensive private practice Psychiatric behavioral medicine clinic, where she provided individual counseling, Psychiatric evaluations, marketing, community outreach, events, & program development. In this role, she also facilitated & case managed individual & group counseling for an intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for addiction & recovery with dual diagnosis, as well as a mental health women's group.

Ms. King has been working in and out of mental health since 2005. Her mental health specialty areas are parenting, depression, anxiety, addiction, women, & teen girls.
