Little Flower Yoga

Little Flower Yoga is a New York based organization dedicated to making the tools of yoga and mindfulness available to all children and teens. Our classes are rooted in youth development principles and address children’s holistic wellness needs in a joy filled environment.

LFY provides tools that help all children come to school ready to learn, and give parents and teachers strategies and support to reinforce these tools.

The School Yoga Project, a program of LFY, currently serves over 700 children per week with in-school and after-school yoga classes, and reaches many more through our network of trained school staff and affiliate partners. We also offer a comprehensive, yoga alliance accredited Teacher Training certification for yoga instructors and practitioners interested in sharing yoga with children and teens.

Created by an educator, our programs incorporate learning goals throughout every class, and our instructors take advantage of the many teachable moments that occur in each session. Little Flower Yoga challenges students to learn in new ways, make connections, and recognize their tremendous capacity to achieve. Everyday, we strive to provide tools that help all children come to school ready to learn, and give parents and teachers strategies and support to reinforce these tools.

In May of 2009 LFY became a founding member of the Yoga Service Council, a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop a community of professional support in the field of yoga service. We are committed to sharing a skills based approach to yoga and mindfulness with all children, regardless of circumstance.
