Little Friends Nursery School

Little Friends Nursery School is a non-political and non-profit organization affiliated with the First United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg. Services are rendered without discrimination because of race, creed, color or national origin. It is further our policy and practice that there be no discrimination with regard to hiring, assignment, promotion, or other conditions of staff employment. It serves children from 18 months thru 5 years old. Classes are held two, three, four and five days a week from September through May. The school has a staff of qualified teachers, a music teacher and a director. We follow UMC Safe Sanctuary guidelines. All staff have State Clearances and CPR training. A Board of Directors, governs the school and is composed of the pastor, five church members and two non church member parents who lovingly guide and support the staff. We

A planned Christian based curriculum applies to each age group and the ultimate goal is to prepare children for entry into kindergarten. Children learn by doing. At Little Friends, we encourage interaction, stimulate curiosity, build listening skills and provide many age appropriate activities that help your child observe and manipulate the environment while feeling success each day. Your child is an individual and we treat each child differently. We also love to play and sing! We love to hug! We love to make your child feel special Little Friends. There are also planned activities throughout the year such as field trips to an orchard, orchestra, farms, and the Kindergarten Academy.

Many fund raising activities are also held throughout the year to help pay for programs, field trips and supplies. The largest is a Fall Harvest Day in November which includes a pancake breakfast, silent auction, puppet show, story time, magic show , & Slime Time games. It runs from 7 am till Noon. It has raised over $10,000 to support the school.
