The park preserves 2,418 acres of "The Real Florida" in southern Hillsborough County. Sitting astride the Little Manatee River, the park preserves unique wetlands including the river, oxbows, depression marshes, and cypress domes, and rare upland communities like sandpine scrub and scrubby flatwoods. The park is home to many endangered plants and animals. Outdoor enthusiasts travel from all over to canoe the river, hike the wilderness trails, ride the equestrian trails, or spend the night in the campground. Rejuvenate your body, mind, and soul with a visit to the park!
