Little Munchkins Family Child Care Home

GENERAL INFORMATION operating my child care home in compliance with the NC State Rules for Family Child Care. My home meets or exceeds all licensing, fire, health, and safety requirements. I am licensed to care for no more than 6 children at any one time, including my own. I will provide care for children birth thru 12 years old. Services are provided without discrimination on the basis of sex, race, color, creed, disability, sexual orientation, national origin or ancestry.

To Help the children learn and develop in a happy atmosphere
To have good communication with parents: Parents should feel free to ask questions about day-to-day care, the curriculum, and planned activities for their children.
To help the parent and the child feel secure and comfortable with the daycare decision.

CURRICULUM

It is through play that children learn the best. Little Munchkins will provide educational lessons that are camouflaged within daily games and routines. These games and routines will facilitate the development of the whole child: Social, intellectual, emotional, and physical—through developmentally appropriate activities. This creates an environment for each child to grow and learn at their own rate, because each child is different and therefore grows and learns in their own unique way.

I will plan activities and provide children with a variety of experiences. Some of the activities will include:
Language development: Books, music, story time, finger plays
Large muscle skills: Balls, hula hoops, bean bags, outdoor play
small muscle skills: Arts/crafts, blocks
Creative expression: Dramatic Play, puppets, music, instruments
Self-help skills: Assist with mealtime preparation, dress self for outdoors
Literacy skills: Books, alphabet and writing games
