Little Oaks Academy

Our roots extended back to 1967, when the Sisters of Mercy established this program to care for the children of parents who worked at St. Mary’s Medical Center in North Knoxville. Much like today, the Sisters of Mercy realized that the care of children was an important component that allowed parents to pursue careers for the betterment of their families. From the beginning, we have worked hard to provide a program of excellence for children.

In the Fall of 2014, the program entered a new chapter in its history when a group of parents, working with the Hospital’s administration, created Little Oaks Academy to take over management of the program. On June 15, 2015, Little Oaks Academy officially opened its door and it strives to carry on the proud tradition created by the Sisters of Mercy and nurtured by the Hospital’s leadership teams for over forty years. With this history, Little Oaks Academy can show off its strong and deep roots while branching out into new directions.
