The beginning of Little Tree Farm
We purchased a Nigerian Dwarf goat for our Grandson for a 4-H project in 2012 which sparked our interest in raising dairy goats
once again,we raised a few in the 80's, so we have decided to start a new herd with Reg. Nubians and Nigerian Dwarfs. Our
little farm will be named as a legacy to our grandfather, Opel Smallwood, hence the name Little Tree Farm. He was the one who
gave us the land that we have today. We have purchased a few does that are CAE and CL neg. with intentions to maintain
annual testing. We are devoted to keeping our dairy herd clear of disease and well loved. We would like to thank Carolyn of High
Rock Farm and Tammy of Sycamore Acres for entrusting us with their animals as our starting does. We would also like to give a
special thanks to Kathy and her family of Statewoods Farm for helping us to get started. Although we have no intentions
ourselves of showing our goats, we enjoy them and strive to breed show quality animals with correct dairy character and
production. And so we begin our journey.
