In response to the commandments of Christ and the Great Commission, LiveHisLove exists to make disciples of all nations by: Seeking justice and Defending the oppressed; visiting orphans and widows in their trouble, while keeping ourselves unspotted from the world by living out the Love Christ has shown to us for the Glory of Him.

The commandments of Christ and the great commission makes it clear that we are not only a ministry devoted to seeking justice but also a ministry committed to evangelism and discipleship. At LiveHislove we are all on the same page that, as a church, we are commanded by the Lord of everything, to make disciples of all nations by living out the love of Jesus Christ. There is a great significance to this because it was Jesus’ final command before ascending into heaven. The great commission found at the end of Matthew was our mission for moving forward without Jesus.



Matthew 28:16-20

Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.



This passage is amazing because not only does it give us direction, but peace and a hope in Jesus Christ. We can know that no matter what happens in this world, Jesus is with us always, and is forever Glorified. That is the mission; to glorify the Father, Son, and Spirit. So what’s next? Make disciples of all nations? How? Prayer, fasting, and scripture together gives us everything we need to move forward in Christ for His glory.

Isaiah 1:17

Learn to do right; Seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.



What is biblical justice? How do we seek it? Justice seeking begins with a right heart. Justice pursued without a heart of love for the oppressed and the oppressor, won’t be justice at all. In our culture, justice is seen more in forms of vengeance and destruction. Neither of those are founded in love. God’s justice is rooted in the desire to make the world less broken. Living out the biblical command to “seek justice” we must remember that this cannot be rooted in anything other than a deep love for God and for people.

We often try to seek justice by the wrong means, ironically create more injustice in the world as a result of our actions. Even though we do good in finding the courage to fight injustice, we must also have patience and grace. Biblical justice has the goal of reconciliation, restoration, and wholeness, not only for the oppressed, but for the oppressors as well. Justice is not the destruction of an oppressor and elevation of the oppressed. Instead justice is achieved when the oppressed has been elevated back to their rightful place as sons and daughters of God, and when those who were guilty of the oppressing have experienced repentance and restoration. While God certainly has a heart for the oppressed, and we are called to be a voice for the oppressed, we cannot fail to remember that he has this same love for the accused as well.



“…visiting orphans and widows in their trouble…”



James 1:27

Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.



Currently, there are approximately 500,000 children in foster care in the United States. It’s estimated that 120,000 are eligible for adoption. With over 400,000 churches in the United States, if one person in every 3rd church adopted a child, all of the children would have a home.

Step back and realize how possible this is. Taking care of injustices such as adopting broken children is not some far fetched dream that we “hope” for but never really see as a possibility. All we need is a genuine love for people. If all it takes is one person in every third church and as a church we are commanded to love people, how are there still so many broken children without loving homes? Somewhere we missed something Jesus was trying to teach us about love and selflessness.

We have an awesome father. We are literally in awe of His goodness and His love. Without it nothing has meaning, we are not really living. Love is, perhaps, the most misused and misunderstood word of all time. What is undefiled biblical love? Why does God remind us over and over that he makes much of us in a way that is designed ultimately to make much of Him?

Loving us this way is biblical love. God’s love for us, that makes much of us for His glory, is a greater love than if He ended by making us our greatest treasure, rather than himself. God loves his people infinitely. He sent his Son to die that He might have us, and that we might have Him (1 Peter 3:18). He will not let us settle for wonderful and happy thoughts of ourselves. Not even a saved, glorified self. He will not let our glory, which he himself creates and delights in, replace His glory as our ultimate treasure. That would not be love.



1 Corinthians 13

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.

So LiveHisLove desires more than anything to love like Christ has loved us. For His Glory as our ultimate treasure. We want to be known only to make Him known further. Everything we do whether adopting orphans, giving widows an opportunity to support themselves or their families through providing resources and skills to start a business, or simply discipling people and sharing Jesus. We want to do them with love. We are His forever and ever. Amen.



2 Corinthians 5:14-15

For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
