Living Hope Community Church

Living Hope Community Church is an evangelical Christian, independent church, seeking to Glorify God with a Great Commission Vision and a Great Commandment Passion.

Founded almost 40 years ago by Dr. Gerald Simmons, ably assisted by his wife, Dorothy Joan and a small core group of people, Living Hope Community Church is an evangelical Christian, non-denominational church, seeking to Glorify God with a Great Commission Vision and a Great Commandment Passion.

Dr. Simmons led the church for 37 years until his retirement. His pastoral ministry was characterized by a strong emphasis on loving relationships and that developed a body of believers with genuine love for each other.

During the ministry of Dr. Simmons an excellent parcel of land was purchased and very nice buildings erected under the trees on the 14-acre lot. It has the atmosphere of a delightful country chapel in an exceptionally pleasant setting. The entire facilities are completely free of all debt and the church has a significant amount of money on hand and invested for future development.

Now, under the leadership of a group of elders, as a local body of true believers in Jesus Christ, we seek to engage our culture with humility, Christian love, and intellectual honesty as we study God’s Word. We are people who encourage one another to be all that God has called us to be, and challenge everyone to share God’s transforming work in their lives with others.

It is our desire and joy to share the Good News to see lives transformed as we seek to fulfill the Great Commandment of loving God and loving others, while doing our part in fulfilling the Great Commission.

Located in the heart of the city with the city at heart, it is our desire, and joy to share the Good News of Jesus’ message of redemption, salvation, and spiritual growth with all those who desperately need His intervention in their lives.
