Lodi Post 523 of the American Legion was started on July 1, 1921, when veterans of World War I got together at Lodi's town hall. The first by-laws and constitution were drafted in August, 1921, and the membership grew to 55 in the first year. The Lodi American Legion now has a Auxiliary and Sons of The American Legion that now has over 300 members. The Legion has many events such as Friday Night Fish Fry’s, Steak Fry’s, Veterans Day Breakfast, Clam Bakes and the Memorial Day Parade to name a few with more to come.
