Kermit Johnson has lived at Smith Mountain Lake in Franklin County since 1995. He has lived in several parts of Virginia but fell in love with Smith Mountain Lake in 1980. Work took him away from the lake but he continued to vacation here. At his first opportunity he moved to Smith Mountain Lake and has never thought of leaving.
Kermit is retired from the Virginia State Police with over fifteen years of experience. The last part of his career was spent in the lake area. Kermit is active in real estate. He currently owns and manages his own rental property. He is an active rehabber (flipper) of distressed properties.
