701 Washington Ave N was built in 1912 by George Christian as a speculative venture. Christian leased the building to the Loose-Wiles Biscuit Company until its purchase of the property in 1914. In its heyday, Loose-Wiles was the second largest manufacturer of crackers in the United States. The building was later the home Littin Paper before becoming the headquarters of architectural firm HGA in 2001. When HGA left the building in 2012, United Properties purchased the property with plans to renovate the building and restore its original name. The Loose-Wiles building is now one of the premier office properties in the North Loop district.
