At the Louis and Peaches Owen Heart Hospital, patients benefit from state-of-the-art facilities, advanced technology and medical excellence. Our nationally-recognized program offers patient-centered care using the world’s leading electronic health record (EHR), ConnectCARE, to further ensure patient safety and convenience with a seamless registration process and access to the patient’s information by all caregivers in all settings.

The six-story, 154,000 square-foot facility, opened in December 2012, offers private patient rooms; on-site cardiac rehabilitation; inpatient and outpatient cardiac diagnostics using advanced imaging technology; thoracic and vascular services; patient and family education center; chapel, meditation gardens, and more.

Using the modified universal bed model, we bring appropriate care to the patient in one room, promoting faster healing and allowing 24/7 family involvement in the patient’s recovery. Three floors with 72 ICU-capable private patient rooms are designed to provide all levels of care, from admission through discharge. The new Patient and Family Education Center also improves surgical outcomes by better preparing the heart patient for surgery and including family members in the patient’s treatment plan.

Our cardiac team includes some of the region’s leading cardiologists and electrophysiologists, nationally-renowned cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons, cardiac nurses and mid-level providers who deliver compassionate, evidence-based care. In addition, respiratory and physical therapists, dietitians, cardiac rehabilitation specialists, case managers, and members of the Pastoral Care staff offer the physical, emotional and spiritual support each patient and family need.
