Enrollment:
Starting in September 2012, Boren School in West Seattle will be reopened as a STEM Option School for grades K-5. Any interested student in Seattle who will be in grades K through 5 in September 2012 can apply to attend. Because STEM at Boren will be an option program, it will be open to any student in Seattle who will be entering grades K through 5 in September 2012.

Location: Boren is located at 5950 Delridge Way SW Seattle, WA 98106 in West Seattle. This is an interim site and the school will move to another location in West Seattle for Fall 2015. Future location TBD.

School Times: 9:25-3:25

Transportation: Bus transportation will be available for students who live within West Seattle. Bus schedules are sent out by SPS to families in August.

Will STEM partner with any local organizations?
Yes! Boren STEM will take full advantage of the great variety of science and technology organizations in the Pacific Northwest. Partners will help with project-based learning (http://www.bie.org/about/what_is_pbl) opportunities and internships, and will enrich and enhance program offerings.

An interim board was elected at the charter meeting that was held on June 27th. The Board of Directors for the 2012-2013 school year shall be elected on September 19, 2012 at a general PTA meeting, and shall take office on October 1, 2012.
