Lou's Brew Cafe and Lounge

Who is Lou? Lous is short for Loukidis, which is the last name of owners Deno and Laura. Lou’s Brew is a family owned and operated business that opened December of 2012. Lou’s Brew Café and Lounge has been a vision of Deno and Laura’s for roughly 8 years. Dreams became reality when son David took the reigns and helped push along the decision to pull the trigger in June of 2012. The hard work had begun instantly as everyone was excited to get things underway and open as soon as possible. After a few setbacks, Lou’s finally opened on December 12th, 2012.
“We want our guests to feel relaxed and welcome, a home away from home so to speak. At Lou’s, you’re not just another customer, you’re our guest and a part of the family.” This has been Lou’s philosophy since the very beginning and aided in the elegant, earthy tones décor that Lou’s has chosen. Using mostly reclaimed material, Deno went to work and hand crafted a beautiful coffee bar out of a single silk wood slab measuring 17ft long, 6ft wide, and 4in thick from Costa Rica! While renovating, the Loukidis’ used reclaimed Milwaukee Crème City brick from the 1850s to create a half brick wall, separating the intimate, quiet lounge from the rest of the shop. More than 150 year old solid wood beams, 100 year old barn boards, and barn flooring are just some of the other reclaimed materials Lou’s Brew has incorporated to help be green and do their part to reduce, reuse, and recycle.
Deciding on a delicious menu and gourmet drinks was the toughest decision of all. Laura and David looked at many, many different choices and taste tested them all until they found the best quality for a great price. Not only were they looking for the best products available but they also wanted to stay as local as possible. There was a clear distinction in the quality and it wasn’t a hard decision once they found Fiddleheads Coffee Roasters from Theinsville, WI and Rishi Tea out of Milwaukee, WI. To add to the gourmet coffee and tea offerings, David wanted a healthy, ‘no-filler’ smoothie menu. With that in mind, they created 5 amazing, 100% fruit smoothies. Other beverages include Big-Train chai, microbrew craft beer, and 14 Hands wine. All products were carefully tested and hand selected for the highest quality, at a reasonable rate.
The amazing beverages aren’t the only thing people are talking about at Lou’s Brew, it’s the food! With unique offering you can’t find elsewhere, Lou’s Brew will have you thinking food. Lou’s menu includes; Grilled cheese sandwiches, wraps, flats, gourmet soup, salads, and fresh baked goods. Though it sounds like your standard café offerings, Lou’s has put a twist on just about everything, adding their own signature flavor to most dishes. Lou’s wanted to stand out from the everyday “burger and fry” routine most people are familiar with so they created the Cheesy Mac-N-Rib Melt, Turkey Spinach & Artichoke grilled cheese, and many others. A healthy choice is always an option at Lou’s with veggie and vegan offerings as well as some Gluten free options.
