LFCN’S VISION AND MISSION

Our Edict: There is one word that encapsulates our convictions.

It is a word with pizzazz. The word is buzz. Here at Lufkin First Church of the Nazarene, we believe that Jesus is buzz worthy! The greatest man who ever lived was and is Jesus! The greatest story ever told is about Jesus. Jesus was and is buzz worthy. All of us should talk less about us, and more about the Lord! We do not possess the power to save. Only Jesus does! It was Jesus who fed 5,000 men with only two fish and five loaves of bread. Not only that, Jesus turned water into wine and walked on the water. Then, just for kicks, Jesus brought sight to a blind man and helped the lame to walk. Jesus heals marriages! Jesus frees drug addicts! Jesus provides abundant life for those mired deep in sin. Jesus changes lives!

That is what all of our excitement is about and we are sure excited about all of the excitement!

Just like Peter and John in Acts 4:20, “We cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

Churches are either boring or buzzing. Great churches buzz. Growing churches have a high buzz factor. We are sure excited about all of the excitement and all of the excitement revolves around Jesus.

Our Expression: We are STILL Excited about all of the Excitement … as God defines it!

Our Exercise: Lufkin First Church of the Nazarene is called to proclaim the Gospel and the core beliefs of the Church of the Nazarene. Pledging all we have to this effort, we will work together to help people engage the one true God, follow His son Jesus and then be filled with the Holy Spirit.

By Being Enthralled: (The first church praised and glorified God – vs. 47)

By Being Equal: (That first church shared a common love and concern for the saint and the sinner – vs. 42, 44 and 46)

By Being Eager: (That first church was enthusiastic to follow the teachings of the Jesus and His apostles – vs. 42)

By Being Employed: (That first church responded to the needs of the people in their community – vs. 45 and 47)

By Being An Envoy: (That first church shared the message of salvation through Jesus Christ wherever they went – vs. 43, 45 and 47)

An Essential: If what we are doing on a weekly basis does not line up with our methods and what we deem as a priority, then we must quit doing it!
