Lulac District CCH

The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), founded in 1929, is the oldest and most widely respected Hispanic civil rights organization in the United States of America. LULAC was created at a time in our country’s history when Latinos were denied basic civil and human rights, despite contributions to American society. The founders of LULAC created an organization that empowers its members to create and develop opportunities where they are needed most. The work of LULAC is done through Councils.
A Council is an affiliated unit (or chapter) of LULAC and is comprised of volunteer members who work within a community under the authority of a “Charter” endorsed by the LULAC National Board of Directors. There are nearly 1000 throughout the United States and Puerto Rico that work to improve the quality of life for Latinos in our communities.
LULAC Utah District CCH is comprised of 3 LULAC Councils and growing. They are Council 44017, Council 44055, and Council 44056.
At this time, our councils are focusing on the Latino Civic Engagement Utah Project (LCEUP), a collaboration between are Conexion Comunidad Hispana (CCH) de Utah and LULAC (League of United Latin American Citizens) Utah District CCH.
