Lyman Ward Military Academy

Lyman Ward is a college preparatory academy for boys accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Alabama Independent School Association (AISA). We offer small classes with a traditional learning approach for grades 6th-12th. Average class sizes of 10 cadets foster a great deal of faculty-student interaction. Faculty and staff serve as mentors and advisers to cadets and strive to bring out the best in each individual. They are dedicated to helping cadets prepare for college and life by identifying and strengthening their knowledge, skills and talents.

Additionally, we have a variety of team sports like football, soccer, basketball, soccer; and after school enrichment options such as: sword drill, weight training, rangers, rifle team, golf, and many other activities the cadets are interested in.

Since 1898, Lyman Ward has educated young people from Alabama, 49 other states, and many other nations. Our alumni serve throughout the world, both in the private sector and in the military.
