Macedonia United Methodist Church

Macedonia was founded on September 9, 1884, when H.P. Irvin deeded a parcel of land to the Trustees of Macedonia Methodist Episcopal Church. These trustees were W.T. Black, E.W. Brownlow, H.J. Hill, and W.M. Robinson. The original church building burned down in February of 1895 but was rebuilt and continued to serve the area.

From the 1950s through the 1970s, the church completed many repairs, renovations, and expansions. Also, around the 1970s, Macedonia joined the newly formed organization, the United Methodist Church.

Since 2000, a number of additions have been made to Macedonia UMC. The sanctuary and fellowship hall were both heavily renovated and expanded, and a large room was added on to the upstairs.

From humble beginnings over 120 years ago, Macedonia United Methodist Church has come a long way. Today, average weekly attendance is around 50 people who come for worship and fellowship. Additionally, small group opportunities abound with children’s and adults’ Sunday School classes; men, women, and kids’ groups; and fun and fellowship every month through the Fellowship Committee activities. Macedonia United Methodist Church continues to serve the Lord and their fellow man in a welcoming and close-knit environment.
