Mad Cow Masks

Lets start at the beginning. I was obsessed with monsters and Halloween from at least the age of 2. One of my first memories was a hayride on my families land in Mooringsport Louisiana. I always loved masks and desperately wanted to make my own. This resulted in some bizarre creations to say the least. Being a kid in the 80's in Shreveport did not help with learning the craft, there were no outlets available back then. Still aren't really, thank God for the internet. Anyway years passed and I kept working with different materials the first of which was aluminum. The result was my first real character Nightshade. He would go through several transformations before being retired in 2012. The aluminum was a good springboard into leather which is way easier to cut and manipulate but also durable. People ask why Mad Cow? At the height of my leather mask making my daughter Madison was born so Mad is for Madison and Cow is of course for leather. I've been in and out of the mask making business over the years mainly because of other projects. What once was just a leather mask company has grown, we handle all kinds of material these days. We also make props and we also do custom work. A lot of our metal and leather masks these days are one of a kind. Materials used are: aluminum, steel, leather, latex, foam, pvc, sintra, and soon silicone. I hope this gives you some insight into what we are all about.
