MadReach

MadReach started in 2009 with an inquiry from a group who wanted to do a week-long outreach in Madison. Since then it has grown to several more groups coming every summer for a week of life changing outreach and discipleship!

MadReach is a combination of discipleship, leadership training, and outreach. It’s a concentrated week designed for you to grow a closer & more personal relationship with God, to learn how to better hear His voice, to experience God’s compassion for those around you and learn to share your faith.

MadReach intertwines teaching and outreach in the same day. The teachings are about who God is and how to go deeper with Him. As we get to know Him, we also want to make Him known. Outreach opportunities are where we make what we’re learning every day REAL by sharing it with others and living like Jesus.

You will be challenged to step out of your comfort zones, equipped to share the gospel, and grow more confident in your calling to share about God’s love and hope with others while in Madison and after you return home! You are gifted and have a unique role to play in the world. We want to help you develop your gifts and see how you can make a difference today!


2012 MadReach Leaders:

Kevin (36) & Tiffany (25), married in 2009, served with a church for a year as youth pastor interns and came to YWAM in 2010, sent by their church to get training before beginning full time as youth pastors. After completing YWAM Madison’s DTS summer of 2011 with an amazing outreach in closed Asian nations, God changed their plans and called them into missions full time with YWAM. Most recently they staffed the 2011-2012 fall Children at Risk Discipleship Training School and co-led the outreach to Thailand, Myanmar and Malaysia. They have a handsome, world travelling 1 year old named Micah. Kevin will be leading this year’s MadReaches.


James (31) & Linnea (27) began their YWAM journey in 2003 and 2004 with their Discipleship Training Schools, came to YWAM Madison in 2005 for School of the Bible and joined full time staff in 2006. They have worked with YWAM Madison with University & international ministry, local outreach including homeless and Juvenile Detention Center, Discipleship Training Schools, leading short term outreaches to places like Mexico, Barbados, Asia, Haiti and cities across the USA. They hosted our first Madreach in 2009 and have been working with MadReaches, other short term outreaches, and DTS since then. James also oversees YWAM Madison’s property maintenance. They are passionate about discipling youth and evangelism. They have two children, Samuel (4 1/2) and Joshua (3).


Arlin (22) began his YWAM journey here at YWAM Madison in 2008 when he did his Discipleship Training School (and went to China with the Caldwells). Since then he has completed the School of the Bible, been to India and China and is currently serving with YWAM Madison in maintenance with James. At the same time he is also attending school for Automotive Technology, and reaching out locally at the Juvenile Detention Center.


Breana (21) completed her Discipleship Training School in Madison, WI in March 2012. She is originally from Traverse City, MI, and has studied Elementary Education at the local community college there. Breana will be helping with this year’s MadReaches. Working at the Grand Traverse Bay YMCA Summer Camp and Day Care for 3 years is what started Breana’s interest in helping children. Currently, ministering to inner city kids, children in Mexico and also children at the YWAM Madison center via child care are a few areas Breana is passionate about. After going on outreach to Houston, Texas and Juarez, Mexico, Breana couldn’t imagine living any other life now and so she continues to work in full-time missions with YWAM. Breana hopes to one day go back to Mexico and also travel to Africa.
