Mahwah Municipal Pool

The Township Municipal Pool is located at 700 Darlington Avenue within the Mahwah Swim and Street Hockey Complex. The facility offers a 25 meter pool with diving well, a wading pool for babies, a 40 foot intermediate pool for children, volleyball and playground areas, picnic tables and grills, extensive lawns, a clubhouse with lockers and showers, and a patio with food services. Mahwah residents may join the pool as families, individuals or seniors. Membership application forms are mailed to all residents early in the spring. All levels of swimming and diving are taught at the Mahwah Pool, along with extensive instructional Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid programs.

Group events and children’s parties can be scheduled at the pool, at least two weeks in advance of the event. Party rates of $8 per person are available. Day use is limited by the manager.

Many programs and events have already been scheduled at the pool for this summer. The DARE pool party and lunch is an outstanding afternoon for Mahwah children. Seniors can look forward to a picnic with entertainment in August. The swim and diving team will celebrate with their family picnic. Mahwah High School’s graduating seniors will have a yearbook signing brunch on site. The Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, sports team, and Mahwah Safety Town will make the summer at the pool exciting.

Pool hours are 11:30am to 8pm or dusk. Full weekday operations start when the Mahwah schools close for the season. The pools open on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Labor Day is the last day for the swim season.

Mahwah Senior rates are only $45. Individual Mahwah residents may join early for $125, and Mahwah large families may join early for $295. Mahwah small families may join for $125 each person. After April 30, general rates are in effect. Out of town residents are welcome to join the pool. Non-resident rates are set at $225 for an individual and $450 for a large family, and $225 each person for a small family, are available. Children age two and under are free. Children, who are not yet fully toilet trained, are limited to the use of the chlorinated and filtered wading pool. Children listed as family members are assumed to be unmarried and living at home as legal dependents. Child care workers are not considered family members and require separate membership.

Daily rates are available for Mahwah residents who are not pool members, and for guests of members. The weekday day rate has been set at $10. Weekend guest rates are $10 for children under 12 and $15 for adults. Mahwah seniors will be charged a day rate of $5 a visit. Proof of residence is required at the gate.

During the month of June, after school swimming from 4:00 to 8:00pm will be offered, on hot sunny Fridays only, for a non member gate fee of $5.00.
