More about Manito Life Center

Our farm is home to both Manito Equestrian Center and Manito Life Center.

Manito Equestrian Center is a year-round equestrian facility located on a scenic 60-acre preserved farm in Allentown, Pennsylvania. We strive to provide the best possible experience for every rider, regardless of their age or ability. While our first priority is safety, our main goal is to have fun and enjoy horses.

Horses and riders alike are sure to love our beautiful and historic farm. With a two hundred year old bank barn boasting lovely dutch door stalls, a 90 x 140 foot indoor arena for all weather riding, a large outdoor arena, seven separate turnout fields lush with grass, and acres of trails, we are able to provide a soothing and relaxing atmosphere for both our two-legged and four-legged friends.

Our farm offers a variety of services, including riding lessons from beginner to the advanced levels, leasing programs, summer day camp, birthday parties, and full boarding services. We are currently accepting new lesson students, summer camp applications, and boarders.

Manito Life Center

Children experiencing trauma are especially vulnerable and can benefit immensely from the interactions with Manito's horses, beautiful farm and trained staff. Manito Life Center was founded by M. Lisa Schadt, R.N. She attended Bucknell University and Allentown Hospital School of Nursing and has received training through EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association).

Manito Life Center's EAGLE program is designed to promote resilience and the development of protective factors, life skills and competencies, and offers children challenges, fun and opportunities for growth and healing. In addition to equine therapies and exercises, complementary nature-based programs are employed.

Manito Life Center offers both equine- assisted psychotherapy and equine-assisted learning programs. Equine- assisted psychotherapy consists of a therapeutic team including a licensed therapist, horse-handler and up to seventeen horses. The equine- assisted learning program is facilitated by a trained staff utilizing a unique program that has been well received by schools and agencies of social work as well as local school districts.
