Mardi Gras Galveston Funky Uptown Umbrella Brigade

We will restore the magical and imaginative experience of Mardi Gras in Galveston. We would like to invite you to come help us commence the celebrations by establishing a grand introduction to Mardi Gras! Galveston Annual Line Umbrella Brigade. Our first year, we broke the Guinness Book of World Record as the largest Line Umbrella Dance with 492 members. Each year we continue to grow this event and we want you to help us out in 2017! This year we would like to you to gather all your friends, family, and loved ones to join us in our quest to break our previous record of 2,923 brigaders!


The Funky Uptown Umbrella Brigade will begin 20th street between Mechanic & Strand and march throughout the district stopping in front of The Tremont House for another rendition of the Hokey Pokey for the Guinness World Record. All participants with a decorated umbrella (MANDADORY) will receive FREE entry into the Entertainment District.
We are inviting companies, groups, teams, organizations, crews, or even just a number of your good time having friends.
