The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is committed to ongoing and sustainable relationships with our community and local businesses, relationships which are fostered in mutual respect and enhance public safety service. These relationships will ensure the Sheriff’s Office responds to crime and quality of life issues within our community.

In order to facilitate our mission and vision, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has established the Community Outreach Division (COrD.) This Division will be responsible for the office wide administration, facilitation, and coordination of community outreach programs and events. COrD will have the responsibility of establishing programs to maintain positive relations between the Office and the community it serves.

The overarching goals of COrD efforts include:
Strengthening relationships and building opportunities for open communication and dialogue between the Office and its communities.
Increasing participation of community members in addressing public safety issues in partnership with the Office.
Facilitating interactions between the Office and community members to address quality of life concerns.
Responding to community concerns in a respectful, straightforward, and timely manner.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office engages customers through many digital outlets, including www.MCSO.org. Communicating with MCSO through social media further enables customers to contact the Sheriff’s Office in a direct and meaningful way.

Commenting on an MCSO Media Site
MCSO shares information, images and video with the public through external social media platforms. Comments made by the public to these sites are reviewed and, while comments will not be edited by Sheriff’s Office personnel, a comment may be deleted if it violates the comment policy described here.
Comments should be related to the posted topic for the MCSO’s social media page or post. Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office social media accounts are not meant for comments that do not directly relate to the purpose or topic of the social media platform or for service requests. For general comments or communications concerning MCSO, please contact the Sheriff’s Office on www.MCSO.org. For service requests, please contact 602-876-1011 or, in the case of an emergency, 911.
MCSO social media accounts are not open to comments promoting or opposing any person campaigning for election to a political office, or promotion or advertisement of a business or commercial transaction.
The use of obscene, threatening or harassing language is prohibited.
Personal attacks of any kind or offensive comments that target or disparage any ethnic, racial, age, or religious group, gender, sexual orientation or disability status are prohibited.
Comments advocating illegal activity or posting of material that violates copyrights or trademarks of others are prohibited.
