Our top priorities moving forward over the next 4 years are; Strengthening
sovereignty, governance, Mashpee land return, equal protection and access
laws, ethics legislation, adult & higher education, cultural education, and the
annihilation of domestic abuse and violence in all forms against Mashpee
Wampanoag women.
To support the peoples agenda we need #1) using the most efficient and
sophisticated technologies available to implement a management information
system that collects and communicates the tribal members voice on the issues
of concern and using an analytics to measure and manage the information so
that it becomes integrated through-out the strategic plan for Nation Building for
the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, #2) A governing tribal council, educated to
address the needs of the business, sovereignty, constitutional reform, governance
strengthening and to provide for stabilizing institutions such as our Committee,
Commissions & Councils, tribal courts, elder & youth programs, professional
training on effective communications, and legislating policies on issues that matter
the most, including monitoring of the strategic nation building plan, and equal
protections under the law for all tribal members, and #3) Stabilizing the Tribal
Judicial system to ensure the balance of powers for tribal judicial remains
traditionally relevant with our past cultural ways, and permanently install the
tribal elders judicial committee, empowered and stabilized as an institution
memorialized in time, charged with the implementation of the tribes vision for
Tribal Courts, as traditionally governed by this guardianship forever.
