Tips for burning your candle efficiently!

1. Keep wick trimmed to 1/4 inch.

2. Keep all debris out of candle, including wick trimmings.

3. Burn the candle for long enough, but not too long.

3a. The first burn is very important, burn the candle long enough to develop a burn pool across the whole width of the candle container.

3b. Never burn a candle for longer than 4 hours. Burning too long can cause the wick to mushroom and form a carbon deposit on the tip, leading to soot and smoke.

3c. To prolong the life of the candle burn only 1 time in every 24 hour period.

4. Stop burning when there is approx. 1/2in. left in the bottom of the container.

4a. Remaining wax can be discarded, and container can be cleaned and re-used.



Other useful information.

CRACKS - With soy wax, sometimes when it gets too cool it can develop cracks throughout the candle. These do not affect the performance of the candle and will usually disappear as it burns.

WET SPOTS - Sometimes when candles are in a glass container, the wax will heat up and cool down and expand and retract. The wax can stick to the sides and can sometimes make it look like there is a bubble in the glass/wax. This is normal and will not affect the way the candle burns.

SWEATING - In a warm or humid environment, fragrance oils can sometimes seep out of the wax, appearing as little drops of liquid on the top of the candle. This does not affect the performance of the candle.

TUNNELING - If the candle is not allowed to burn for long enough, it can create a "tunnel" and just burn a small diameter down the center of the container. This can be corrected by using a butter knife to trim away the wax at the edges (while the candle is not lit) down to the wick level.
